Police in Londonderry said a teacher accused of sending a student nude photos of herself was arrested Friday.

Melinda Dennehy, 41, an sophomore English teacher at Londonderry High School, turned herself in to police Friday morning. She was charged with one felony count of indecent exposure.

According to court documents, a 15-year-old male student at the high school revealed that Dennehy e-mailed him four nude photos of herself about two months ago. The documents said she allegedly continuously sent him text messages, saying she wanted to perform a sexual act with him.

The teen e-mailed the photos to two other students, according to the court documents, and the boy's father showed police an e-mail of the photos that had Dennehy's e-mail address on it. Students said the pictures were circulating around the school.

"A couple of kids in our school had them on their phones, and it was going around the school," said senior Seth Giberson. "Everybody had them."

Giberson said that a few weeks ago, he saw classmates looking at four photos of the teacher.

"They started flicking through pictures and they were pictures of her naked," he said. "Like, full body pictures from head to toe."

Police had been investigating Dennehy since Wednesday, when school officials said allegations about her conduct came to light. The school placed her on administrative leave.

"She had come from the private sector, decided she would like to go into education, pursued that degree, and then she was hired by us three years ago," Superintendent Nate Greenberg said.

Dennehy was released on $10,000 personal recognizance bail and ordered to have no contact with anyone under 16. She also cannot go onto school property.

Greenberg said the school is handling the situation as best as it can.

"It obviously has an impact on faculty, staff and students," he said.

Her arraignment is scheduled for March 23.

Rowdy curling crowds; spontaneous street parties; public drunkeness. You don't have to look far for evidence that the crowds at Winter Games in Vancouver know how to have a good time.

And, as if anymore proof is needed that a wild Olympic atmosphere permeates B.C.'s largest city, now there's an apparent condom shortage.

That's right. As you read this, an emergency shipment of condoms is desperately making its way across Canada to the West Coast city.

Health officials in Vancouver have already provided 100,000 free condoms to the roughly 7,000 ahtletes and officials at the Games. That's about 14 condoms per person. But as of Wednesday, those supplies started running dangerously low.

So naturally, the Canadian Foundation for AIDS research decided to step and make sure there were no hitches in Olympic action.

"When we heard about the condom shortage in Vancouver, we felt it important to respond immediately," said Kerry Whiteside, CANFAR's Executive Director. The organization assembled three large boxes of about 8,500 condoms, much to the relief of libidos at the Olympic Village. They're expected to arrive on Thursday.

Toledo strip club puts cover charge into quake relief

Scantily clad dancers were the draw at a downtown men's entertainment club over the weekend for an event that raised nearly $1,000 for victims of the earthquake in Haiti.

Marilyn's on Monroe, 715 Monroe St., billed Saturday's affair as "Lap dances for Haiti."

Although the billing may be misleading - lap dancing is illegal in Ohio - the intention isn't.

General Manager Kenny Soprano said Sunday the club donated all the money from the day's regular $10 cover charge to International Services of Hope, or ISOH/IMPACT, of Waterville.

Mr. Soprano said Marilyn's on Monroe had been considering a charity fund-raiser before the Haiti earthquake as a way to polish the club's image.

"We'd been racking our brains for about a month or so, thinking about what we could do," he said. "You don't hear much about strip clubs giving back to the community."

He said some charities may be put off by the donation's source.

"It was pretty hard to find an organization that wants to deal with an adult entertainment establishment," he said.

Two sister clubs in the Detroit area, the Landing Strip in Romulus and Subi's Place in Southgate, have scheduled similar events this month with a goal of raising $5,000.

That's the amount needed to send a container of relief supplies to Haiti, said Linda Greene, ISOH/IMPACT's chief executive officer. Ms. Greene said she has not been contacted by the club regarding the event.

The organization is grateful for any donations it receives to aid the people of Haiti.

"I don't have a problem with it," she said.

BEIJING (Reuters Life!) – Chinese police have detained some 3,470 people so far this year during a crackdown on online pornography and closed thousands of pornographic websites, state media said on Saturday.

In August, China formally backed down on a plan to pre-install Internet filter software on all new computers sold in the country after an international and domestic outcry.

But the government maintains tight controls over the internet, saying it has to do so to protect young people from bad influences. Activists say it is more to do with stifling criticism of the ruling Communist Party.

The official Xinhua news agency, citing the Ministry of Public Security, said "more than 1.25 million items of online lewd content and nearly 7,000 pornographic websites and columns" had been removed from the internet this year.

"The police also cracked more than 3,500 erotic cases," Xinhua said, without elaborating.

The aim of the campaign was to "purify (the) social environment and protect minors' mental health," the report said.

Despite the harsh words and action, pornography remains relatively easy to obtain in China, mainly in the form of pirated DVDs hawked on street corners.

Eighth-graders charged in sex incident in WR classroom

WARNER ROBINS — Two eighth-graders at Warner Robins Middle School will be charged with indecent exposure after allegedly engaging in oral sex in a classroom Dec. 4 while a substitute teacher and other students were present, said Sgt. Porter Wood, school liaison officer with the Warner Robins Police Department.

A male student and a female student allegedly performed the act in the back of the room while class was in progress, according to Tabitha Pugh, public information officer for the Warner Robins Police Department. A substitute teacher was in the front of the room and, according to Pugh, her view was obstructed by other students.

The incident occurred about 1 p.m., Wood said. Several students who witnessed the incident later alerted a school administrator, but apparently did not bring it to the attention of the substitute teacher at the time.

Wood could not confirm the ages of the students. Wood could not say if the substitute teacher was facing any disciplinary action.

The case will be turned over to the Juvenile Division of the Houston County Sheriff’s Department. The Warner Robins Police Department will issue a report about the incident today, Wood said.

Robin Hines, Houston County assistant superintendent for school operations, would not address the specifics of the situation, but said there are procedures in place for students and teachers involved in serious disciplinary matters.
