LONDONDERRY, N.H. --
Police in Londonderry said a teacher accused of sending a student nude photos of herself was arrested Friday.

Melinda Dennehy, 41, an sophomore English teacher at Londonderry High School, turned herself in to police Friday morning. She was charged with one felony count of indecent exposure.

According to court documents, a 15-year-old male student at the high school revealed that Dennehy e-mailed him four nude photos of herself about two months ago. The documents said she allegedly continuously sent him text messages, saying she wanted to perform a sexual act with him.

The teen e-mailed the photos to two other students, according to the court documents, and the boy's father showed police an e-mail of the photos that had Dennehy's e-mail address on it. Students said the pictures were circulating around the school.

"A couple of kids in our school had them on their phones, and it was going around the school," said senior Seth Giberson. "Everybody had them."

Giberson said that a few weeks ago, he saw classmates looking at four photos of the teacher.

"They started flicking through pictures and they were pictures of her naked," he said. "Like, full body pictures from head to toe."

Police had been investigating Dennehy since Wednesday, when school officials said allegations about her conduct came to light. The school placed her on administrative leave.

"She had come from the private sector, decided she would like to go into education, pursued that degree, and then she was hired by us three years ago," Superintendent Nate Greenberg said.

Dennehy was released on $10,000 personal recognizance bail and ordered to have no contact with anyone under 16. She also cannot go onto school property.

Greenberg said the school is handling the situation as best as it can.

"It obviously has an impact on faculty, staff and students," he said.

Her arraignment is scheduled for March 23.

Rowdy curling crowds; spontaneous street parties; public drunkeness. You don't have to look far for evidence that the crowds at Winter Games in Vancouver know how to have a good time.

And, as if anymore proof is needed that a wild Olympic atmosphere permeates B.C.'s largest city, now there's an apparent condom shortage.

That's right. As you read this, an emergency shipment of condoms is desperately making its way across Canada to the West Coast city.

Health officials in Vancouver have already provided 100,000 free condoms to the roughly 7,000 ahtletes and officials at the Games. That's about 14 condoms per person. But as of Wednesday, those supplies started running dangerously low.

So naturally, the Canadian Foundation for AIDS research decided to step and make sure there were no hitches in Olympic action.

"When we heard about the condom shortage in Vancouver, we felt it important to respond immediately," said Kerry Whiteside, CANFAR's Executive Director. The organization assembled three large boxes of about 8,500 condoms, much to the relief of libidos at the Olympic Village. They're expected to arrive on Thursday.

Trail of snacks, MySpace surfing lead to Hamilton burglary suspecy

HAMILTON - Stephan Crane will probably never be a professional burglar.

The 19-year-old Hamilton man was arrested Tuesday morning following an early morning break-in to the Ravalli Republic.

Crane allegedly broke into the newsroom through a window and then watched some pornography on the computers he found inside. He also logged onto his MySpace and Facebook pages using his own name.

Somewhere along the way, the man doused the room with a fire extinguisher.

Following a short investigation, Hamilton police officers found Crane at his sister's apartment just across the hallway from the paper's newsroom.

The officers followed a trail of stolen trail mix and M&Ms to her door.

Hamilton Police Detective Stephen Murphy said Crane confessed to the crime shortly after his arrest.

According to Murphy, in his detailed taped confession Crane said he had consumed some alcoholic beverages at a Hamilton residence before being dropped off at the building housing his sister's apartment, which is right next door to the newspaper.

When she didn't answer her door, Crane attempted to get into her apartment through a back window.

After failing at that attempt, Crane picked up a copy of the Ravalli Republic that was lying in the hallway and read at least one story on the front page. Murphy said the man told him it had something to do with politics.

The newspaper in his hand may have led to his next idea.

"He told me he always wondered what was inside the newspaper office," Murphy said.

Crane also hoped he could find something inside the office that he could use to pick his sister's door. So he went back outside on the roof and sneaked in through a window.

Once inside the building, Crane allegedly used two different computers to view pornography and his MySpace and Facebook pages.

"As he started to sober up, he said that logging on to his MySpace page was a dumb move for a burglar to make," Murphy said.

Crane also found two gallon-size bags of trail mix and another bag of M&Ms inside one of the desks.

He threw two bags of trail mix out the window in the general direction of the nearby door used to access the hallway between the row of apartments and the newsroom. The M&Ms were found lying on top of the Tuesday edition of the Ravalli Republic in front of his sister's door.

Murphy said Crane admitted that probably didn't help his case either.

"He told me: �Left a trail literally to the door where I was,' " Murphy said.

By reviewing the computer logs, Murphy estimates that Crane probably spent about three hours in the newsroom.

Before Crane left, he pulled a fire extinguisher off the wall and fired it a couple of times.

"He said he thought it would be neat to shoot it off," Murphy said.

Crane was remanded on felony charges of burglary and criminal mischief and a misdemeanor count of theft. He will be later charged with minor in possession. He was booked into the Ravalli County detention center.

Toledo strip club puts cover charge into quake relief
Downtown event raises nearly $1,000

Scantily clad dancers were the draw at a downtown men's entertainment club over the weekend for an event that raised nearly $1,000 for victims of the earthquake in Haiti.

Marilyn's on Monroe, 715 Monroe St., billed Saturday's affair as "Lap dances for Haiti."

Although the billing may be misleading - lap dancing is illegal in Ohio - the intention isn't.

General Manager Kenny Soprano said Sunday the club donated all the money from the day's regular $10 cover charge to International Services of Hope, or ISOH/IMPACT, of Waterville.

Mr. Soprano said Marilyn's on Monroe had been considering a charity fund-raiser before the Haiti earthquake as a way to polish the club's image.

"We'd been racking our brains for about a month or so, thinking about what we could do," he said. "You don't hear much about strip clubs giving back to the community."

He said some charities may be put off by the donation's source.

"It was pretty hard to find an organization that wants to deal with an adult entertainment establishment," he said.

Two sister clubs in the Detroit area, the Landing Strip in Romulus and Subi's Place in Southgate, have scheduled similar events this month with a goal of raising $5,000.

That's the amount needed to send a container of relief supplies to Haiti, said Linda Greene, ISOH/IMPACT's chief executive officer. Ms. Greene said she has not been contacted by the club regarding the event.

The organization is grateful for any donations it receives to aid the people of Haiti.

"I don't have a problem with it," she said.

BEIJING (Reuters Life!) � Chinese police have detained some 3,470 people so far this year during a crackdown on online pornography and closed thousands of pornographic websites, state media said on Saturday.

In August, China formally backed down on a plan to pre-install Internet filter software on all new computers sold in the country after an international and domestic outcry.

But the government maintains tight controls over the internet, saying it has to do so to protect young people from bad influences. Activists say it is more to do with stifling criticism of the ruling Communist Party.

The official Xinhua news agency, citing the Ministry of Public Security, said "more than 1.25 million items of online lewd content and nearly 7,000 pornographic websites and columns" had been removed from the internet this year.

"The police also cracked more than 3,500 erotic cases," Xinhua said, without elaborating.

The aim of the campaign was to "purify (the) social environment and protect minors' mental health," the report said.

Despite the harsh words and action, pornography remains relatively easy to obtain in China, mainly in the form of pirated DVDs hawked on street corners.

WATERBURY - A city woman has been arrested after a married couple from Monroe complained that she harassed them numerous times about having three-way sex.

Anna Bambino, 30, of Pierpont Road, was charged Friday with breach of peace. She was released on a written promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court.

Bambino called the Monroe woman six times demanding that she and her husband engage in a threesome, police said. Bambino is single, according to her MySpace.com profile.

Monroe Police have been investigating the incident since September. Bambino apparently knows the Monroe woman through a friend, but doesn't have a history with her, a Monroe police sergeant said Saturday night.

When police interviewed Bambino, she admitted to making the calls and said she was intoxicated at the time.

On her MySpace.com page, she lists herself as a student. Her interests include paranormal activity and ghost hunting.

Eighth-graders charged in sex incident in WR classroom

WARNER ROBINS � Two eighth-graders at Warner Robins Middle School will be charged with indecent exposure after allegedly engaging in oral sex in a classroom Dec. 4 while a substitute teacher and other students were present, said Sgt. Porter Wood, school liaison officer with the Warner Robins Police Department.

A male student and a female student allegedly performed the act in the back of the room while class was in progress, according to Tabitha Pugh, public information officer for the Warner Robins Police Department. A substitute teacher was in the front of the room and, according to Pugh, her view was obstructed by other students.

The incident occurred about 1 p.m., Wood said. Several students who witnessed the incident later alerted a school administrator, but apparently did not bring it to the attention of the substitute teacher at the time.

Wood could not confirm the ages of the students. Wood could not say if the substitute teacher was facing any disciplinary action.

The case will be turned over to the Juvenile Division of the Houston County Sheriff�s Department. The Warner Robins Police Department will issue a report about the incident today, Wood said.

Robin Hines, Houston County assistant superintendent for school operations, would not address the specifics of the situation, but said there are procedures in place for students and teachers involved in serious disciplinary matters.

FOLLOW-UP STORY

WARNER ROBINS � Two Warner Robins Middle School students who allegedly engaged in oral sex in a classroom while a substitute teacher and other students were present are facing additional charges.

Along with the public indecency charges first reported in The Telegraph on Friday, both students are being charged with sodomy and disruption of public school. The male student will also be charged with solicitation of sodomy and violation of probation, said Capt. Jerry Stewart of the Juvenile Division of the Houston County Sheriff�s Department.

Both students are being detained at the Crisp Regional Youth Detention Center, said Stewart, who has been working with Sgt. Porter Wood, school liaison officer for the Warner Robins Police Department, on the investigation.

The two students have a hearing scheduled in Houston County Juvenile Court Monday, Stewart said.

Any disciplinary action against the substitute teacher will be handled by school board officials, Wood said.

The Warner Robins Police Department released its report Friday regarding the Dec. 4 incident.

According to the report, Wood met with WRMS assistant principal Cameron Andrews on Dec. 8 at 10:15 a.m. in response to the incident.

While the incident report was generated Dec. 8, Wood said the case was being investigated by the afternoon of Dec. 4.

The incident took place during the school�s fourth period, around 1:25 p.m., the report said. A male student asked a female student to perform oral sex on him, and she agreed. The substitute teacher was helping students in the front of the classroom, and her view was obstructed by other students sitting in the room.

Both students are eighth graders, Wood said.

After the incident, a student reported it to Andrews, and school officials notified the parents of the students involved of the incident.
